Probably not coming soon to a theater near you
He is generally regarded by critics as the most important American artist of his generation, although you may have never heard of him. Sculptor, video, and performance artist Matthew Barney's Cremaster cycle may never make it to Memphis, but it is currently getting a long overdue major exhibition at the Guggenheim in New York.
Excellent link, steve! Those trailers are beautiful. Non-narrative filmmaking at its best. Has anyone seen the entire film/performance?

Damn, that was stunning. I'd love to see it, but it will never come anywhere near here.
I did find myself thinking the same thing I've been thinking about a lot of movies lately: "That had to be a bitch to film!" Imagine this exchange on the set:
Cheeta Woman:
What's my motiviation here?
Matthew Barney:
Well...uh...you're a cheeta woman! Act like that!

For your edification (I was just recently edified--or is it edificated?--myself), the definition of cremaster: (Anat.) A thin muscle which serves to draw up the testicle.

Regardless of the metaphorical role this guy has to play in the process of one's testicles dropping/gonadal development, I'm not sure I want him involved with the process.
