Al Sahaf as Black Knight
The fan club site of Mohammed Saeed al Sahaf, Iraq's information minister and the world's most famous "glass is half full" guy, has been mentioned here before, but it bears repeating now that the site's creators finally ponied up for the bandwidth to make it viewable. Sahaf's unwavering vision of ultimate military success is reminiscent of Monty Python's limb-losing optimist, the Black Knight. The good folks at Zone53 put together this little tribute: Super al-Sahaf.
Those who think this has been wag the dog war could certainly argue that al-Sahaf is really just Syndey Pollack.

"We will welcome them with bullets and shoes."
Britain "is not worth an old shoe"
"The shock has backfired on them. They are shocked because of what they have seen. No one received them with roses. They were received with bombs, shoes and bullets. Now, the game has been exposed. Awe will backfire on them. This is the boa snake. We will extend it further and cut it the appropriate way."
About Bush and Rumsfeld: "Those only deserve to be hit with shoes."
What's wrong with shoes? Given the choice between bombs, bullets or shoes, I think I'd take the shoes.
