Remind me to never shop at this store!

I'd like a head of lettuce, 2 bunches of green onions, 5 bell peppers and a big, fat, Laotian rat-squirrel. Interesting enough to discover a new mammal species, but why did it have to be a rat?

The closing comment from the New York Times (reg. req.) article was priceless:

"Dr. Timmins said he was not tempted to feast on a rock rat and never thought to ask what it tasted like. A trip to the market, he said, made it clear that 'in Laos, pretty much everything gets eaten.'"

...and never thought to ask what it tasted like.

Tastes like Laotian Rat Squirrel, of course. A bit "gamier" than your regular Laotian rat.
