NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dennis 'Boog' Highberger, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim the days of February 4, April 1, March 28, July 15, August 2, August 7, August 16, August 26, September 18, September 22, October 1, October 17, and October 26, 2006 as INTERNATIONAL DADAISM MONTH

And the good mayor did make the proclamation in a touching ceremony.

I can vouch for Lawrence, as I live about 15 minutes from there, nowadays. It is a great college town and, well, any town that makes a DADA proclamation is super duper in my book. Furthermore, any town with a mayor whose nickname is Boog (is that short for Booger?)is super duper all on its own, DADA day or not. Combine those two great tastes and you have a concoction that tastes great together as the marketers say. Win win.

I will use this technique from now on to spice up my bureaucratic speak. Another well placed whereas is the least I can do, for example:

WHEREAS: the subject property should be rezoned from residential to commercial; and

WHEREAS: zimzim urallala zimzim urallala zimzim zanzibar zimzalla zam;

The Board will surely appreciate it!

I have it on good authority that Delta Axis will be hosting a DaDa Ball this spring at the Power House. I'm still debating whether to go as a urinal or cop out and just wear a bowler.
