I first came to know Studs Terkel through his brief appearance in the underrated documentary film Anthem, which is a must see if you can find it on cable. I then read the book Gig, which was inspired by Terkel's Working. In turn, I read Working, Race, and Hard Times and became a true Studs junkie.
